Denver Broncos at New York Jets – NFL Betting Pick Week 6 2014

The bookmakers seems to be solid at putting up the odds right now. Usually at the start of the season you will be able to spot some very erroneous lines, but now that things have started to settle it gets easier for them to analyze the forthcoming match ups. But fear not – we are still gonna find ways to win money betting at the widely available lines at the biggest NFL betting sites online. We have been doing it for years now and we are going to continue to do just that for years to come as well.

Denver Broncos

I guess everyone heard about the great Peyton Manning’s 500th passing touchdown that took place this weekend. He even netted 501, 502 and 503 while he were at it. He put on a clinic when it came to slinging the pigskin and ended up with a career-high of 479 passing yards in a game (I really thought he would have had a higher during his tenure, but I guess not). The loss of Montee Ball did not seem to phase them as he haven’t been doing all that well. Hillman did a decent job filling in and got some yards, and Thompson took it in for a short touchdown run.

The defense is also helping out more now than they have been doing in the past. They did not produce any turnovers, but they hold the opposing team to limited gains and field goals and frankly that is all the Broncos offense needs to be able to get to work. Both von Miller and Ware netted sacks this game and showed they can produce pressure on the offense when it is needed.

New York Jets

What is there to say? They got shut out, which is always a humiliating thing to have happen against your team. And that against a relatively mediocre defense in the Chargers. Neither Geno Smith or Michael Vick were able to produce anything of note and it does not bode well for their game against the Broncos the coming week. I guess they will get more done with Decker back and they cannot possibly be any worse this week.

But they also need to up their game to give their defense a chance. Although they didn’t score any points themselves, the defense put up a good effort for as long as they could. But being forced to stay on the field for basically forever makes it impossible to keep the score down. This loss, and the big differential is all on the offense. The Jets still has a solid run defense and an ok secondary considering how bad it looked going into the season, but they need to get the offense in rhythm in order to have any hope of victory on Sunday.

Our Predictions

This is gonna be another horrible display by the Jets offense we feel. No way are they gonna turn it around so fast in only a week. This is not the New England Patriots. The Jets simply do not have the talent and the depth on offense to make that happen. Their secondary is gonna have their hands full against a Manning riding high on some excellent showings as of late and they will easily exceed the spread here.
