Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens – NFL Betting Pick Week 2 2014

Horrible start to our betting this season, but we are not giving up! There are plenty of games to be played yet and we cannot simply stand by and let the value ride away from us. You will have some good and some bad streaks. Definitely a bad one this one. And it is not only betting on the NFL that is hurting me, but also other sports. I guess you have to make up your own mind if you want to follow me now or not, hehe.

Now we are one week in and we have gotten a clearer picture of who is who. Based on this we have already found a decent wager on the Thursday Night Football game that is coming up between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. A really good division rivalry is going down and we have the betting tips for the main event.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Got off to a flying start against the Browns in the first half and were up with 24 points coming into the second half. Ben Roethlisberger seemed to be able to hit anyone and anything racking up over 350 yards this day. Even Le’veon Bell got a lot of yardage and an end zone run to tack on. Everything looked like business as usual for the Steel Curtain, but they seemed to completely collapse in the second half against a struggling Browns team – and even at home at that.

The defense didn’t manage to put pressure on Hoyer and the shambled offense were able to run all over the weak defense showing of the Steelers. If they are gonna show up like that at M&T Banks Stadium then it is gonna be a massacre. Their offense were solid, but the defense needs to keep up.

Baltimore Ravens

Horrible loss at home, but against tough opposition. The Bengals are considered to favorites in this group and they played very solid. But this were a game that Ravens lost with dropped passes and atrocious decision making by Flacco. Their defense did an amazing job of almost keeping this good producing offense out of the end zone for the whole day, and given how the offense played that was quite the feat.

The defense looked good and are gonna get better with their #1 corner back for this game in Lardarius Webb. Their offense will step it up and get things moving better. You cannot simply have all those drops several games in a row, that is simply not possible. There were more first game jitters than bad plays. Players at this level don’t simply stop forgetting how to play. I would be more worried if they simply got outplayed, but here we saw simple mechanics done wrong. I am confident that they will bounce back and make a statement here.

Our Predictions

This a clear value play in our opinion. Ravens played badly, and almost came up with a win against a solid Bengals at home. Now they are facing a shaky Steelers that are rebuilding and should be a number smaller than Steelers. Given that it is a rivalry game it is gonna be a close one, it always seems to be between these teams, but Ravens should be getting back into swing of things here.
