Raiders Texans Betting Pick
Darren McFadden is a fucking beast. That is essentially all I have to say for this matchup. The Texans (who I think are completely overrated) are without their best player, Andre Johnson. Obviously not having Andre doesn’t mean they’ll lose for sure, but they were pretty crummy without him last year.
Take away McFadden from the Raiders offense and they suck ass, but with McFadden watch out. He has averaged 6.2 yards per carry thus far in the season, which sits him atop the leaderboard for both yards and ypc. The rest of the Raiders’ offense is forgettable, unless you like remembering choke jobs and shitty play. I wouldn’t trust Jason Campbell to toss me a beer from the fridge (it would end up going 10 yards over my head), so why does Oakland trust him as their starting quarterback? Maybe Campbell is part of count Al Davis’ army of the undead.
Damn son, the Raiders defense has been beaten up worse than their fans this year. They are sitting 2nd last in points per game against, and 4th worst in yards against per game. The Raiders secondary is having big time injury problems right now, but of course Andre is out so the Texans have no receivers for this game.
The Texans are not a team I particularly like. I don’t even have a reason really. I like some of their players like, Andre, Mario Williams, and Arian Foster. Even though I only like Arian for his funny first name. Matt Schaub is so unbelievably overrated; I wish he was injured instead of Andre. Then my boy Matt Leinart could get into a game and show him how it’s done.
My Pick
Bottom Line: Without Andre the Texans generally just fade into a pile of shit. The Raiders have the second best runningback in the NFL and they’re being given points. Raiders cover and I like the Raiders on moneyline too.
